Market wrap: VN-Index edges up despite down day for real estate tickers
The VN-Index edged up by two tenths of a percent on Wednesday despite a selloff of real estate tickers following the arrest of the chairman of property developer Tan Hoang Minh on suspicions of “fraudulent appropriation of assets,” according to VnExpress.
* Several banks recovered following their down day on Tuesday, including VCB (+1.9%), VPB (+4.3%), TCB (+1.7%) and MBB (+2.1%).
* FPT (+3.7%) and MWG (+2.3%) both jumped to all-time highs.
* HPG (+2.5%), MSN (+1.4%), GVR (+1.6%) and SAB (+2.0%) were other notable large-cap gainers.
* Real estate players VIC (-2.2%), DIG (-6.9%) and NVL (-1.6%) were the day’s top three contributing laggards.
* Fertilizer manufacturers DCM (-6.4%) and DPM (-4.7%) are both down 10% so far this week.
