Market wrap: VN-Index edges up, 1,400 points continues to be resistance level
The VN-Index briefly surpassed the 1,400-point mark on Monday afternoon before plunging in the final hour of trading to close at 1,395.53 and finish the day up two tenths of a percent.
* GAS (+4.0%) was the day’s top contributing gainer. Petroleum distributor PLX (+1.5%) also increased.
* Securities brokerages VCI (+3.0%) and VND (+3.1%) posted strong gains.
* In the real estate sector, PDR (+3.0%) jumped to a three-month high. In addition, NLG (+5.9%) has climbed nearly 14% over the last four trading sessions. On the other hand, KBC (-3.0%) and BCM (-1.4%) fell.
* MSN (+1.4%) ended a four-session losing streak. Conversely, fellow food & beverage manufacturer SAB (-1.7%) declined.
