Market wrap: VN-Index edges down to close week 

The VN-Index finished nearly unchanged on Friday, closing down by a mere hundredth of a percent. Notably, large-cap stocks experienced a more significant decline as the VN30 Index fell by eight tenths of a percent. For the week, the VN-Index increased by 2%. 

*  VIC (-2.2%) retreated from its 4.5% gain on Thursday and was the top contributor to the day’s small loss. In addition, VRE (-2.4%) dropped after surging more than 18% over the previous three trading sessions. 

*  GAS (+3.7%) was the top contributor among gainers following the rise of global oil prices. Petroleum distributor PLX (+1.4%) also increased. 

*  In the real estate sector, BCM (+6.9%) jumped to the daily trading ceiling for the second day in a row while DIG (+6.9%) shot up 21.1% for the week. On the other hand, NVL (-2.0%) declined for the second straight day. 

*  BID (+2.6%) has increased 5.8% over the past two days. Meanwhile, fellow banks CTG (-2.3%), VPB (-1.6%), SSB (-3.4%), TPB (-2.4%) and STB (-2.3%) decreased.
