Market wrap: VN-Index drops while trading turnover on HOSE jumps to record high 

The VN-Index dropped by six tenths of a percent on Wednesday with trading turnover on HOSE hitting a record high of USD1.9bn as investors focused their selling on real estate tickers following that sector’s recent uptrend. 

*  Several real estate players tumbled after recording strong gains on Tuesday, including GVR (-6.6%), VHM (-2.5%), NVL (-2.7%), KDH (-6.3%), KBC (-7.0%) and DIG (-6.9%). 

*  On the positive side, nine of the day’s top 10 contributing gainers were banks — TCB (+4.1%), BID (+2.6%), VPB (+2.3%), HDB (+6.2%), VCB (+0.8%), CTG (+1.8%), MBB (+2.6%), OCB (+6.9%) and STB (+4.7%). 

*  Airline HVN (-6.7%) plunged to an eight-week low.
