Market wrap: VN-Index drops below 1,300
After closing above 1,300 points on Wednesday and Thursday, the VN-Index dropped 1.8% on Friday to close at 1,284.08 as 25 of the VN30 Index’s components finished in the red. For the week, the VN-Index decreased by three tenths of a percent, ending a streak of three straight positive weeks.
* GAS (-7.0%) plummeted to the daily trading floor and was the top contributor to the day’s loss. In addition, petroleum distributor PLX (-4.0%) fell following its 7.8% gain over the previous four days.
* GVR (-4.9%) pulled back after jumping nearly 10% in the first four days of the week.
* FPT (-4.6%) and MWG (-1.8%) both declined.
* Banks BID (-2.0%), CTG (-2.2%) and VPB (-1.9%) were among the day’s top contributing decliners. On the other hand, TCB (+1.5%) notched its fourth straight positive session.
