Market wrap: VN-Index declines to start week 

The VN-Index closed down by three tenths of a percent on Monday as turnover on HOSE was weak at USD431.9mn due to cautious investor sentiment in the lead up to the release of companies’ Q2 2022 earnings results. 

* MWG (-3.6%) was the top contributor to the day’s loss and has dropped more than 7% over the last three trading sessions. 

* GAS (-1.3%) extended its losing streak to three sessions. 

* Chemical manufacturer DGC (-5.2%) has tumbled 21.2% since June 17. 

* Banks VIB (+6.8%), MBB (+1.6%), TCB (+1.0%), LPB (+4.2%) and STB (+1.6%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. Conversely, CTG (-1.3%) declined. 

* Securities brokerages VND (+3.2%), HCM (+6.9%), SSI (+2.5%) and VCI (+3.5%) increased.
