The VN-Index, one of the few equity markets open for trading on December 25, closed at a 2020 YTD high of 1,084. Trading volume remained robust and the index’s gain was led by financial stocks, which contributed almost 50% of the day’s increase of 16.9 index points or 1.58%. Vietnam Rubber Group, GVR (+7.0%) was the top positive index contributor. Banks contributed eleven of the top 20 positive contributions to the index’s gain, led by TCB (+5.7%), BID (+2.4%) and CTG (+2.2%).
