Market wrap: VN-Index climbs to three-week high 

The VN-Index advanced by half of a percent on Wednesday and hit a three-week high of 1,299.52 as the oil & gas sector posted strong gains. 

*  VCB (+2.0%) climbed for its fourth consecutive session and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Meanwhile, fellow banks ACB (-1.4%), EIB (-2.1%), BID (-0.4%), CTG (-0.5%), VPB (-0.5%), VIB (-1.1%) and MBB (-0.5%) were all among the day’s top 10 contributing laggards. 

*  GAS (2.8%) has surged 12.4% over the last four trading sessions. 

*  VHM (+1.0%) extended its winning streak to seven sessions. 

*  VHC (+6.9%) soared to the daily trading ceiling and hit an all-time high.

*  Steelmaker HPG (-1.0%) fell for the second day in a row and was the session’s leading contributing decliner.
