Market wrap: VN-Index climbs for fifth straight session

The VN-Index closed up by a half a percent on Monday, marking its fifth straight positive session as banking tickers had a positive impact on the market. 

* VCB (+2.2%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain and has climbed 6.9% over the last five trading days. Most other banks increased, including BID (+1.0%), MBB (+1.1%) and STB (+1.8%). 

* Real estate developer NVL (+6.7%) hit the trading ceiling for its second consecutive session. Meanwhile, VHM (-1.2%) ended a streak of four positive sessions. 

* MSN (-1.7%) has finished lower in eight out of the last 10 trading sessions.
