Market wrap: VN-Index approaches all-time high

The VN-Index gained a half of a percent on Monday to close at 1,524.70— less than four points from its all-time high — as the tickers of several securities brokerages had strong performances.

* GVR (+5.6%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain.

* Securities brokerages SSI (+4.9%), VND (+6.9%), HCM (+4.5%) and VCI (+3.0%) recorded strong gains.

* NVL (+4.7%) has jumped 8.1% over the last three sessions. However, fellow real estate players DXG (-6.2%) and DIG (-2.5%) dropped.

* In the oil & gas sector, GAS (+2.5%) and PLX (+2.0%) both climbed.

* TCB (-1.3%) snapped a four-session winning streak and was the day’s top contributing laggard.

* Fertilizer manufacturers DPM (-7.0%) and DCM (-5.0%) slumped.
