Market wrap: VHM soars, VN-Index finishes higher

The VN-Index increased nine-tenths of a percent on Tuesday, ending a run of three consecutive negative sessions as the real estate, banking and manufacturing sectors performed strongly.

* VHM (+6.7%) surged following its 7.5% decline over the previous three trading days.

* Banks VCB (+1.6%), VPB (+3.3%), CTG (+1.1%) and STB (+1.6%) were among the day’s top contributing gainers. Conversely, HDB (-2.2%) fell for the second day in a row.

* Steelmaker HPG (+2.2%) increased for the first time in three sessions.

* Food & beverage players MSN (-1.7%) and SAB (-1.6%) were the day’s top two contributing laggards.
