Market wrap: Trading turnover sinks, VN-Index drops 0.6% 

The VN-Index dropped six tenths of a percent on Wednesday as trading turnover on HOSE dropped nearly 27% from the previous session to USD859.9mn. 

*  VIC (-2.0%) and its subsidiary VHM (-1.5%) were the top two contributors to the day’s loss.

*  After a strong performance on Tuesday, several banks pulled back, including VPB (-2.4%), TCB (-1.7%) and CTG (-1.5%). 

*  Oil & gas tickers GAS (-1.0%) and PLX (-2.2%) declined. 

*  Steel manufacturers HPG (+1.2%) and HSG (+3.2%) both gained. 

*  Securities brokerage SSI (+6.9%) soared to the daily trading ceiling.
