The VN-Index climbed 1.1% on Thursday as investors picked up shares at bargain prices following the market’s recent downturn. Trading turnover on HOSE was light, slumping to USD660.78mn — the lowest amount since April 8. Steelmaker HPG (+3.3%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Banks bounced back from Wednesday’s slide, led by VPB (+4.1%), CTG (+3.9%), TCB (+2.2%), ACB (+3.1%), SSB (+5.5%) and STB (+5.1%). GVR (+4.1%) has advanced in two out of the past three trading sessions.
