Market wrap: Stocks inch up to end week
Despite some positive momentum throughout the trading session on Friday, the VN-Index cooled off at the end of the day to close up by just a tenth of a percent. For the week, the index increased by eight tenths of a percent.
* VPB (+1.9%) advanced to a three-week high and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Conversely, fellow banks HDB (-1.9%), MBB (-0.7%), BID (-0.4%), CTG (-0.3%) and VIB (-0.8%) were all among the day’s top contributing laggards.
* Food & beverage manufacturers VNM (+1.5%) and SAB (+1.7%) increased.
* Airline HVN (+4.6%) surged 19.6% for the week.
* GVR (-1.6%) ended a two-day winning streak.
