Market wrap: Stocks drop across the board, VN-Index falls 1.4% for the week

The VN-Index dropped throughout Friday’s session to close down by 1.2% with selling pressure hitting all sectors as there were 322 decliners to only 86 gainers. For the week, the VN-Index decreased 1.4%, marking its second consecutive weekly decline.

* Nearly all bank tickers were in the red, led by VCB (-2.5%), BID (-1.1%), VPB (-1.7%), ACB (-2.2%), TCB (-1.5%) and MBB (-1.4%).

* Securities brokerages SSI (-1.1%), VND (-2.2%), HCM (-2.5%) and VCI (-4.1%) struggled.

* MSN (-3.8%) tumbled more than 11% for the week.

* Retailer MWG (-2.2%) fell in four of the week’s five sessions.
