Market wrap: Positive momentum continues, VN-Index hits fresh record high
On Thursday, the VN-Index continued its positive momentum from the previous session, increasing 1% and hitting a fresh all-time high of 1,438.01 as investor sentiment was boosted by the index breaking through the psychological 1,400-point resistance level.
* VCB (+1.9%) climbed for the second day in a row and was the leading contributor to the day’s gain. Fellow banks VPB (+1.7%), SSB (+3.4%) and TPB (+2.5%) also experienced significant gains.
* GAS (+2.7%) has soared 11.6% over the last three days.
* MSN (+3.3%) jumped to a record high after announcing strong earnings results.
* Real estate players NVL (+3.7%), BCM (+6.6%) and DIG (+6.1%) surged. Conversely, PDR (-1.8%) dropped to its lowest price since October 18.
* Brewer SAB (+2.9%) rose to a six-week high.
* HVN (-2.5%) sank to a nearly one-month low and was the day’s top contributing laggard.
