Market wrap: Bank tickers tumble, VN-Index falls 5.2% for week

The VN-Index dropped 1.6% on Friday as investor sentiment continued to be impacted by a tumultuous week on Wall Street and global stock markets. In addition, the VN-Index fell 5.2% for the week.

* It was a difficult day for banks as VCB (-3.8%), MBB (-6.4%), CTG (-4.7%), TCB (-4.3%), VPB (-3.8%), BID (-2.2%), ACB (-2.3%) and VIB (-7.0%) were among the session’s top 10 contributing decliners.

* Securities brokerages VND (-6.9%) and SSI (-7.0%) both fell to the daily trading floor.

* GAS (+4.7%) increased 12.9% during the week.

* MSN (+5.7%) climbed 10.4% over the past two days.
