Market wrap: Bank stocks weigh on VN-Index
After rising on Tuesday morning, the VN-Index dropped as it neared the 1,350-point mark and ultimately finished the day down by a tenth of a percent as declines across the banking sector weighed on the market.
- Banks CTG (-2.0%), VPB (-1.1%), TCB (-0.9%), MBB (-1.1%), ACB (-1.2%) and HDB (-1.6%) were among the day’s top contributing decliners.
- HPG (-1.0%) fell for its third straight session.
- POW (-2.9%) has dropped 5% over the last two days.
- MSN (+3.7%) was the day’s leading contributor among gainers.
- SAB (+2.8%) climbed to an 11-week high.
- HVN (+6.9%) has soared 36.7% since September 6. Meanwhile, fellow airline VJC fell for the second day in a row.
