Market wrap: Bank stocks tumble, VN-Index falls for fourth straight day

On Friday, the VN-Index dropped 1.3% for its fourth straight losing session as the negative performance of the banking sector weighed heavily on the overall market and trading turnover on HOSE slumped to USD274.9mn. For the week, the VN-Index declined 1.9%. 

* Banks BID (-2.1%), CTG (-2.6%), VPB (-2.3%), ACB (-3.1%), TCB (-2.5%) and MBB (-2.5%) were among the day’s top contributing laggards. 

* VHM (-2.4%) plummeted 9.3% over the last three days. 

* MSN (-1.9%) finished lower for the fourth straight day. 

* Airline HVN (+5.3%) was the day’s top contributing gainer.
