Market wrap: Bank stocks drive VN-Index to 1.3% gain
The VN-Index jumped 1.3% on Thursday as investor sentiment was lifted by strong earnings results from several listed companies while trading turnover on HOSE climbed nearly 25% from the previous session to USD707.3mn.
- Banks were up across the board, led by CTG (+3.0%), VPB (+2.5%), TCB (+1.8%), MBB (+2.9%) and ACB (+3.0%).
- VHM (+1.3%) bounced back after declining in the previous two days.
- MSN (+2.6%) is up 7.3% so far this week.
- MWG (+3.6%) snapped a four-session losing streak.
- Airline HVN (+6.9%) soared to the daily trading ceiling.
