Global markets experienced a volatile month. Global markets tumbled in the first half of March (the Dow Jones and S&P 500 dropped 2.8% and 4.6%, respectively) due to concerns on the Russia – Ukraine conflict, oil and other commodity prices, the global outlook, and subsequent interest rate hike from the Fed. However, global markets rebounded strongly in the second half of the month following the Fed’s move, a drop in US unemployment claims, and talks between Russia and Ukraine. In March, the Dow Jones and S&P 500 gained 2.3% and 3.6%, respectively.
