The VN-Index rebounded to its highest level in nearly 12 weeks. After dropping to a three-month low in the last week of July following the COVID-19 outbreak in Da Nang, the VNI rebounded in August as it gained 10.4% over the month. The upbeat performance of the VNI in August was mainly driven by: (1) Strong rallies in global stock markets, particularly in the US where the S&P 500 (+7.0%) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (+7.6%) recorded their highest monthly gains in four months.
