The number of daily COVID-19 cases skyrocketed after the Tet Holiday, surpassing 100,000 per day at the beginning of March. Nevertheless, the number of patients on supplemental oxygen and the number of deaths remained low (1.0% of total cases) thanks to Vietnam’s high vaccination coverage. As of March 3, nearly 77% of Vietnam’s population was fully vaccinated while around 40% of the population had received third/booster doses.
